Supplementary Educational Resources

Parkland School Division has compiled the following lists of resources to help supplement each student's learning experience. Here you will find a wide variety of links to materials that may foster literacy and numeracy, and expand upon the curriculum taught by classroom teachers.

Many of these resources offer entertaining educational opportunities that children can enjoy and pass the time with outside the classroom environment.

Important to Note:

  • Making use of these resources is entirely optional. Your child(ren)'s teacher(s) will cover everything they will need to know for their grade level according to the Alberta curriculum.
  • Use your own discretion when deciding which of these resources would be well suited to your child's interests and/or abilities.
  • Parkland School Division does not endorse any specific external resource; we merely suggest them based on their potential educational value.

COVID-19

The following resources provide useful information about and/or during the COVID-19 pandemic, which you can use to learn more about the disease, and relay to your children in a manner they will be able to understand, without causing them any undue anxiety. Also included here are ideas for activities to pass the time during the stay-at-home directive, and tips for fostering student learning in an online environment.

More resources will be added to this page as they become available. For health and financial resources for individuals and families, check out our Community Resources and Crisis Hotlines page.

For the latest COVID-19 information, please visit the Alberta Health Services website. If you or a family member is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please access the self assessment tool from Alberta Health Services.
