Regular Board Meeting Highlights - December 19, 2023

Wednesday, December 20, 2023 - The Board of Trustees is pleased to share with all education stakeholders the highlights of our recent Board meeting held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. The adopted minutes will be available on our website following the next Regular Board meeting. 

• The Board welcomed students and staff from Connections for Learning's (CFL) Parkland Student Athlete Academy (PSAA). The PSAA is a program-of-choice that fosters opportunities for student athletes to pursue excellence in academics and athletics in a variety of sports.
• The Board Chair Report discussed recent participation by a couple of trustees who took part in an online meeting with partners in the Town of Stony Plain and Shikaoi student exchange.
• The Superintendent Report highlighted efforts throughout the Division supporting the Christmas Hampers Drive organized by the Kinette Club of Spruce Grove and the Stony Plain Kinsmen. The report also included an update on Facilities Services staff putting the finishing touches on the link and modular classrooms at École Broxton Park School which will welcome students from the CFL outreach campuses in the new year.
• The Board received as information the Transportation Services Department report as presented by Transportation Supervisor, Gail Lewis.
• The Board received as information the Student and Workplace Wellness Report as presented by Associate Superintendent, Dr. Meg Miskolzie and Division Principal, Wellness & Community Partnerships, Christine Ross.
• The Board received as information the Alternative Programs Report as presented by Associate Superintendent, Scott Johnston.
• The Board received as information the Off-Campus Education Report as presented by Associate Superintendent, Scott Johnston.

The next regular board meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 9 a.m.
