The first day of school for most students is Tuesday, September 2!

We are working hard to ensure that our schools are ready to welcome students and their families for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The first day of school for most students is Tuesday, September 2. This article contains general start-up information and links to help you prepare for the big day. For school-specific information, such as office reopening dates and details about welcome back activities, please visit your school's website over the coming weeks.

School Calendars

To view important dates in the 2025-2026 school year, please refer to the School Calendar and the Kindergarten Calendar.

Student Transportation

• If you have already registered for 2025-2026 busing, please check your mailbox, as bus passes will be delivered via Canada Post. Families registered for busing will receive an email containing a link to estimated pickup and drop-off times.

Bus Passes

All student riders must have a valid, current pass to board a bus. New passes—produced in a different colour each year—are issued to students whose fees have been paid in full or for whom payment arrangements have been made (e.g. payment plan). Passes from previous school years will not be accepted.

If full payment or payment arrangements were made by the June 20 deadline, your child’s bus pass has been mailed to the address provided during registration. You will receive email confirmation once your child’s bus pass has been mailed. If you completed online registration but have not received your bus pass, call Transportation Services at 780-963-8452 or email Transportation@psd.ca.

Bus Status

Download the free Bus Status 4 app today! It is the best way to get current school bus information and notifications. Visit our Bus Status page for links to the App Store and Google Play.

Refund of Transportation Fees

Transportation fees will only be refunded if your request is received in writing before the first day of school (an admin. fee is applicable). Transportation cancellations received after the first day of school will not be eligible for a refund unless you are moving to another district (verified with Alberta Education) or you move from an ineligible area (under 1 km for K-6 or 2 km for Gr. 7-12 from your designated school) to an eligible area (over 1 km for K-6 or 2 km for Gr. 7-12 from your designated school).

Still need to register for busing?

  • If you are new to the area, visit our Registration page to complete online registration.
  • If your child is a returning student, check your email for a registration link.

Please note that buses are at or near capacity. Service requests are still being processed, but may be subject to availability.

Need to register for the new school year?

Whether you are new to our division, have a child just starting their educational journey, or your child is a returning student, you can find all the information you need to complete the online registration/verification process on our Registration page. Online registration/verification is an annual process that must be completed for all students from Pre-K through Grade 12.
