May 8, 2025 - Parkland School Division (PSD) is excited to announce the expansion of the Relating Everyday Academics and Life Skills (REAL) Program with a new site opening in Stony Plain for the 2025-2026 school year. The new location will be housed at École Meridian Heights School, joining the existing program site at École Broxton Park School in Spruce Grove.

This expansion aligns with a key strategy outlined in PSD’s 2025–2028 Education Plan, scheduled to be approved at the upcoming May Regular Board Meeting. The plan emphasizes a commitment to equitable access to programming for all students by enhancing service delivery across the Division.

The addition of the Stony Plain location increases the overall capacity of the REAL Program and significantly reduces transportation times for many current and future students who reside in the Town of Stony Plain or in the western regions of Parkland County. This expansion allows more students to benefit from specialized programming that focuses on promoting independence, developing functional academics, and enhancing daily living skills in a supportive learning environment.
