Tuesday, October 8, 2024 - The Board of Trustees is pleased to share with all education stakeholders the highlights of our recent Board meeting held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The adopted minutes will be available on our website following the next Regular Board meeting.

Update:

  • Students and staff from Spruce Grove Composite High School presented on international student exchange programs and language classes offered at the school.
  • The Board approved the 2024-2025 Modular Submission Request recommendation. The request includes:
    • Memorial Composite High School - 8 new modulars (includes classrooms and washroom units)
    • École Meridian Heights School - 6 new modulars to replace existing ones
    • Blueberry School - 11 new modular classrooms replacing 9 existing ones
    • École Broxton Park School - 6 new modular classrooms replacing existing ones
    • Muir Lake School - 2 new modular classrooms
  • The Board received as information the Athabasca Delta Community School Report as presented by Division Principal, Dean Bernard and ADCS Principal, Tammie Sarauer.
  • The Board received as information the 2023-2024 Student Conduct and Intervention Report as presented by Deputy Superintendent, Mark Francis and Associate Superintendent, Dr. Meg Miskolzie.
  • The Board received as information the 2024-2025 Enrolment Report. The September 27 enrolment count for the 2024-2025 school year is 12,667 for the Division. This is an increase of 150 students or 1.2% over the 2023-2024 school year.
  • The Board received as information the Curriculum Implementation Report as presented by Division Principals, Linda Madge-Arkinstall and Shaye Patras.
  • The Board approved a recommendation accepting the Board mandate and Guiding Principles for negotiations as presented in-camera.

The next Regular Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 9am.
