Tuesday, March 11, 2025 - The Board of Trustees is pleased to share with all education stakeholders the highlights of our recent Board meeting held virtually on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The adopted minutes will be available on our website following the next Regular Board meeting.

Update: 

  • The Board is pleased to recognize Jennifer Jones from École Meridian Heights School, and Joshua Wiens from Memorial Composite High School, as the two Parkland School Division Edwin Parr nominees as Outstanding First Year Teachers. And further, the Board will submit Joshua Wiens’ nomination to the Alberta School Boards Association Zone 2/3 Edwin Parr Selection Committee.
  • The Board approved a recommendation to nominate the Spruce Grove Rotary Community Partners Society for the Special Contribution to Public Education Award sponsored by the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta, in recognition of their dedication and fundamental contribution to students and public education.

  • The Board approved a recommendation to approve the Student Conduct Ad Hoc Committee Terms of Reference.

  • The Board approved the 2025-2028 Three Year Capital Plan Submission. 
    • Year One (2025-2026)
      Priority One - New K-9 School in Spruce Grove (Tonewood) at a cost of $28 million dollars.
      Priority Two - Modernization and expansion of Brookwood School at a cost of $14-18 million dollars.
    • Year Two (2026-2027)
      Priority One -Modernization and expansion of Forest Green School at a cost of $12-16 million dollars.
      Priority Two -New K-9 School in Spruce Grove (West side) at a cost of $28 million dollars. 
    • Year Three (2027-2028)
      Priority One -Replacement of Parkland Village School at a cost of $16 million dollars. 
      Priority Two - Modernization and preservation of École Broxton Park School at a cost of $8-12 million dollars.
  • The Board received as information the 2024-2025 Infrastructure Maintenance Renewal (IMR) and Capital Maintenance Renewal (CMR) Expenditure Plan as presented by PSD Director, Facilities, Serge LaBrie.
  • The Board received as information the French Immersion Report as presented by Division Principals, Linda Madge-Arkinstall and Shaye Patras.

The next Regular Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 9am.  (Virtual)
