Update on COVID-19 (April 30)

On Thursday, April 29th, the Government of Alberta announced additional health measures targeted by regions that included some Alberta schools temporarily shifting to at-home learning. This DOES NOT include Parkland School Division at this time. At the time of the announcement, that included the following municipalities:

  • Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
  • City of Red Deer
  • City of Grand Prairie
  • City of Calgary
  • City of Airdrie
  • Strathcona County
  • City of Lethbridge
  • City of Edmonton

Criteria for Expanded Restrictions

Targeted restrictions are in effect for hot spot regions - municipalities or communities where there are at least 350 cases per 100,000 people AND 250 active cases.

At the end of the day on Thursday, April 29th, Parkland School Division regions were reporting the following:

Parkland School Division is monitoring these statistics very closely as they can certainly change rapidly. Parkland School Division continues to consult with Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services on any individual school or grade circumstances.
