PSD Hires Human Resources Director
June 28, 2023 - Parkland School Division’s (PSD) Superintendent of Schools, Shauna Boyce, is pleased to announce the hiring of Amy Goerzen as Director, Human Resources effective August 9, 2023. In her new position as Director of Human Resources, Ms. Goerzen will play a crucial role in furthering the division's commitment to attracting and retaining the best and brightest staff.

Under Ms. Goerzen's leadership, the Human Resources Team will continue to support employees throughout their careers by offering comprehensive professional development programs. Additionally, she will oversee performance, attendance, and retirement management processes to ensure employees have the necessary support to excel in their roles. The Human Resources team will enhance identification of unconscious biases in Human Resource practices and promote skill development with respect to bias reduction.
Amy Goerzen, Director Human Resources
With a 15-year career in human resources, Ms. Goerzen brings extensive expertise in complex HR environments and specialized knowledge in employee and labor relations. Her track record of fostering positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues, operational leaders, HR networks, service centers, employees, and union representatives is a testament to her exceptional leadership skills.
Ms. Goerzen is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and holds a Bachelor of Human Resources & Labour Relations degree from Athabasca University. She has been a valuable asset to Covenant Health since 2017, where she has held the positions of Senior Human Resources Client Partner and initially started as an HR Client Partner. Her experience at Covenant Health has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and navigate the unique challenges it presents.
Prior to her tenure at Covenant Health, Ms. Goerzen spent seven years as an HR Advisor, Business Partnerships at Alberta Health Services.
