Administrative Appointment - Acting Division Principal

April 27, 2023 - Parkland School Division Superintendent of Schools, Shauna Boyce is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Aileen Peterson as Acting Division Principal effective May 1, 2023. Ms. Peterson has served students in her most recent role of Assistant Principal of Greystone Centennial Middle School in Spruce Grove since 2016-17. She has been with Parkland School Division in various administrative capacities since 2008 including stops as Principal at Keephills School and Wabamun School, and Assistant Principal at Blueberry School. Prior to that, she was a teacher and administrator in Fort McMurray, AB. She has also taught at Siksika Nation, Inuvik, Northwest Territories and other Alberta communities.

Ms. Peterson earned a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Lethbridge as well as a Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning from the University of Ottawa.

In the role of Acting, Division Principal reporting directly to the Deputy Superintendent, Ms. Peterson will assist with the current busy time as schools prepare for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, specifically related to workforce planning. This interim position will also assist with the transition to a new full-time Director of Human Resources.

Lynn Lang, Acting Assistant Principal
Greystone Centennial Middle School (Gr. 5-9)

Lynn Lang has been a familiar face in the Greystone Centennial Middle School community for the past 15 years. She has been with PSD and Greystone since the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year in various capacities teaching Humanities, Health and Grades 7-9 Phys. Ed. She’s also stepped in as acting admin on occasion when called upon. Ms. Lang currently serves students in a combined role as Inclusive Education Lead and Administrative Support.

Ms. Lang earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina and spent the first five years of her teaching career at École Massey School in Regina. She also earned a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology & Health Studies also from the U of R.
