More Administrative Appointments for 2021-2022

Duffield School, École Broxton Park School, Graminia School, Greystone Centennial Middle School, Memorial Composite High School, Staffing Announcement

Parkland School Division’s Superintendent of Schools, Shauna Boyce, is pleased to announce additional administrative appointments that will take effect for the 2021-2022 school year. All of these assignments involve existing members of the PSD Leadership Team who will apply their leadership skills and expertise as they serve new school communities beginning in the fall.

“In Parkland School Division, we believe that each and every one of our educational leaders has so much to offer their respective school communities, “stated Superintendent Boyce.
“Intentional rotations create opportunities to further develop our leaders. School communities benefit from our leaders who come from varied backgrounds and leadership styles. School culture is always evolving and our Leadership Team should be too.”

Corey Haley, Principal
Greystone Centennial Middle School (Grades 5-9)

Corey Haley is a graduate from the French Immersion program at Spruce Grove Composite High School and has taught at a range of schools in Parkland and on Vancouver Island. Mr. Haley has built relationships and added experience in his first role as Principal of a school for the past two years at Graminia School. Previously, he held Assistant Principal roles at École Broxton Park School from 2011-2015 and at Graminia School from 2015-2019. He continues to be involved in professional learning and service to teaching through his volunteer work with different conferences throughout Canada, his podcast Intersection Education, and has co-authored academic articles.

Corey earned a Baccalauréat-es-Éducation from the University of Alberta in 2003 and in 2008, a Masters in Education (Leadership Studies) from the University of Victoria.

Cherie Lovsund, Principal
Duffield School (K-9)

Cherie Lovsund has been a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience combined between Parkland School Division and School District 57 in Prince George B.C. Her journey with Parkland School Division began in 2010 at Seba Beach School as a Grade 3/4 teacher. She moved to Parkland Village School the following school year to become the Grade 3 teacher in a team-teaching environment. She was a Collaborative Teaching Partner serving Parkland Village School, Graminia School and Prescott Learning Centre and transitioned to a temporary Assistant Principal role at Woodhaven School in the year prior to Copperhaven School opening its doors for the first time. She was the first Assistant Principal at Copperhaven and has been in that role since the school’s opening.

Cherie earned her Bachelor of Education degree from University of Victoria in 1991 and completed a Masters of Curriculum and Educational Leadership in 2018, also from the University of Victoria.

“My time at Copperhaven has been such a wonderful experience. I have loved being part of a fantastic school community and I leave with such fond memories of students, staff, and families. I am so very excited to embark on this new journey as the principal of Duffield School, with brand new families, staff, and students.”

Treena Neumann, Principal
Graminia School (K-9)

Treena Neumann’s teaching career began in 2004, working with various school divisions in Alberta, with a focus on Middle Years. Treena started with Parkland School Division in 2006 at Woodhaven Middle School, where she taught Grade 8/9 English, Social and Drama. Treena joined the PSD Leadership Team in 2011 as an Assistant Principal with Woodhaven Middle School. Treena also served as Acting Principal of Woodhaven School prior to her maternity leave in the spring of 2014.  She's served as an Assistant Principal at École Broxton Park for the 2015 - 2016 school year before becoming Principal of École Broxton Park School in 2016.

Treena earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001, with a major focus of Drama. In 2004, Treena earned her Bachelor of Education with Distinction – after degree, both from the University of Alberta. She completed her Masters of Education from the University of Portland in 2019.

Anil Padayas, Principal
École Broxton Park School (K-9)

Anil began his teaching career in Parkland School Division in 1992 on a short term contract teaching Grade 7 Math/Science at Stony Plain Central School.  He went on to teach Junior and Senior High School Mathematics for 10 years in Grande Prairie and area leading to his first post as an Assistant Principal at the Peace Wapiti Academy.  Anil served as Principal at Penson School just outside of Grande Prairie for 2 years before joining the team at Spruce Grove Composite High School in 2009 as an Assistant Principal.  Anil has also stepped up to the role of Acting Principal at SGCHS when called upon. Mr. Padayas was also the Principal at Graminia School starting in 2016 before moving to his current position as Greystone’s Principal in 2019.

Anil earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta with a major in Secondary Mathematics and minor in General Sciences.  He obtained a Masters Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Leadership from the University of Northern British Columbia. 

"While I will miss the students and staff at Greystone School, I am very excited to be part of the École Broxton Park School. I look forward to serving the French Immersion students and community as we all strive to maintain an ongoing dedication to the growth of each pupil in a safe and caring environment."

Dianne Jewell, Assistant Principal
Memorial Composite High School (Gr 10-12)

Dianne Jewell began her teaching career in 2007 with Aspen View Public Schools as a Grade 8 and 9 Humanities teacher at Edwin Parr School. She also taught the Knowledge and Employability Program for 5 years at that same school. Her transition to administrative roles began in 2016 as Vice Principal for Edwin Parr School and then to the Principal at Grassland Community School (Kindergarten to Grade 10). She joined Parkland School Division in 2019 as Principal of Duffield School. 

Ms. Jewell earned her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta in 2005 and has a Master's degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Indigenous Land-Based Learning, with a focus on the Indigenous paradigm.

“I am excited to continue on my journey with Parkland School Division. I look forward to joining the Memorial Composite team and to building new connections with staff and students during our learning journey together.”
