ATA Labour Action Update
September 10, 2025 - Parkland School Division (PSD) would like to provide the PSD community with an update on the provincial collective bargaining process between the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) and the Alberta Government via the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA).
On Wednesday, September 10th, The ATA announced that if a settlement cannot be reached, job action will begin on Monday, October 6, 2025. With the teachers’ strike mandate in place until October 7th, this may provide some clarity for parents/guardians with respect to the window the two sides face as they try to negotiate a deal.

Parkland School Division will continue to monitor the situation closely and follow the direction provided by the Government of Alberta. As of now, a 72-hour strike notice has not been filed to the Alberta Labour Relations Board. Parents and guardians will be informed of any changes or updates to school operations as soon as information becomes available.
