Additional Administrative Appointments for 2025-2026

May 13, 2025 - Parkland School Division is pleased to announce the second wave of administrative appointments for the 2025-2026 school year. This round of announcements focuses on Assistant Principals who will be transitioning to new leadership roles across the Division.
In total, six full-time members of PSD’s Leadership Team will be moving into new school communities to support students, staff, and families in the upcoming school year. For two of the appointees, this marks an exciting new chapter as they officially begin their journey in formal school leadership roles for the first time.
“This next wave of leadership transitions is an exciting milestone in our ongoing effort to build strong, responsive, and dynamic school teams throughout Parkland School Division,” stated Superintendent Shauna Boyce. “We are proud to support both emerging and experienced leaders as they take on new challenges and continue to grow within our system. Their diverse experiences and commitment to student success will enrich their new school communities.”
The following appointments will take effect for the 2025-2026 school year:
Mara Poltaruk, Assistant Principal
École Broxton Park School (Gr. K-9)
Mara Poltaruk has been a valued leader in Parkland School Division’s Student Services department since 2018, and she now brings her deep expertise in inclusive education to her new role as Assistant Principal at École Broxton Park School. In her current role, she has led capacity-building initiatives such as the development of a robust lending library of instructional kits and a professional development series specifically designed for Educational Assistants, entitled Supporting Diverse Learning Needs.
Mara began her teaching career with the Calgary Board of Education, where from 2005 to 2013 she held a variety of specialized roles including Special Education Teacher, Health Teacher, and Remedial Math Teacher for Grades 1 and 2. Her passion for supporting diverse learners led her to become a Behaviour Coach with the Regional Collaborative Service Delivery (RCSD) team from 2015 to 2018, where she worked across school communities to address complex behavioural needs.
Mara earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 2004 and recently completed her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary in 2019.

Jared Olson, Acting Assistant Principal
Connections for Learning (Gr. 1-12)
Mr. Olson began his teaching career with temporary assignments at High Park School and Graminia School, before accepting a continuing teaching position at Duffield School in 2011. Over seven years at Duffield, Jared honed his skills in teaching Science and Physical Education for Grades 6 through 9, developed authentic cross-curricular projects, and took on leadership roles including Athletic Director and West Zone Representative for the WCJHAA. He also coached several school teams, with his Senior Girls Volleyball team capturing the school’s first Premier Division banner in 2017.
In 2018, Jared joined the Copperhaven School community. As a member of the founding staff, he helped shape school culture and played a vital role in supporting staff and students during the launch of a brand-new school. He has been a Numeracy Lead and PD Planning Team member and Acting Admin at Copperhaven before joining the team at Woodhaven as the Inclusive Education Lead and Instructional Lead at the start of the 2024-2025 school year and most recently stepped into an Acting Assistant Principal role to finish off this school year at Woodhaven.
Jared’s post-secondary education includes a two-year Secondary Education Degree from Red Deer College followed by a Bachelor of Secondary Education degree with a major in Biological Sciences and a
minor in Physical Education from the University of Alberta in 2008.

Tammie Sarauer, Assistant Principal
Duffield School (Gr. K-9)
Ms. Tammie Sarauer is finishing up her first assignment as a Principal in Parkland School Division as her time at Athabasca Delta Community School (ADCS) in Fort Chipewyan comes to a close. She has enjoyed a 17 year career with PSD. Prior to joining ADCS, Tammie served students and staff as an Early Education Facilitator in PSD’s Early Childhood Services department. The majority of her time was at Connections for Learning in various roles including Home Education Director as well as the Lead Teacher with the Stony Creek Program overseeing the home school component for Grades 1 - 6.
She has also served students in many diverse roles including Inclusive Education Lead, acting admin, and program lead. She also has experience with many of PSD’s most diverse learning needs programs. Ms. Sarauer has been a Facilitator for High School options and before her full-time teaching career began, she was a substitute teacher in PSD as well as an Educational Assistant at École Broxton Park School.
Ms. Sarauer earned her Bachelor of Education as an Elementary Generalist minoring in Psychology from the University of Alberta in 2002. She earned a Masters of Education from the University of Calgary in 2022 as well as a School Leadership Certificate also from the U of C.

It was a privilege to work with the incredible staff and students at ADCS—they made my experience both meaningful and memorable. I’m now thrilled to continue my learning journey at Duffield School and look forward to getting to know and work with the amazing staff, students and families there as well!”
Tracy Onuczko, Assistant Principal
High Park School (Gr. K-9)
Tracy Onuczko brings nearly 20 years of experience in K–12 and post-secondary education to her new role as Assistant Principal, offering a unique blend of classroom expertise, system leadership, and academic research in support of student learning. Her long-standing commitment to inclusive, evidence-based instruction has made her a respected voice in science and numeracy education across Parkland School Division.
From 2023 to 2025, Tracy served as a Teacher Facilitator for Science and Numeracy. She also supported the development of division-wide resources and partnered with school administrators to implement site-based numeracy plans that align with Alberta’s evolving concept-based curriculum. Prior to this role, Tracy taught at Spruce Grove Composite High School in two separate stints teaching Biology, Science and Math. She also contributed at the provincial level as a Biology 30 Examiner with Alberta Education.
From 2011 to 2013, Tracy served as a Principal Instructor at the University of Alberta, where she designed and delivered undergraduate and graduate courses in curriculum and instruction.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science (2002), a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education (2005), a Master of Education in Secondary Science Education (2010), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Secondary Education (Science) (2018), all from the University of Alberta.

Lynn Lang, Assistant Principal
Memorial Composite High School (Gr. 10-12)
Lynn Lang has spent the last two years in the Duffield School community. She joined the administration team as an Acting Assistant Principal in 2023 and then removed the Acting title for the start of this 2024-25 school year. Her first foray into school administration was as an Acting Assistant Principal for Greystone Centennial Middle School. In fact, Lynn spent the better part of 16 years at Greystone. She started her PSD journey in the 2007-2008 school year in various capacities teaching Humanities, Health and Grades 7-9 Phys. Ed. Lynn has also served students in a combined role as Inclusive Education Lead and Administrative Support.
Ms. Lang earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina and spent the first five years of her teaching career at École Massey School in Regina. She also earned a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology & Health Studies also from the U of R.
“It has been a true privilege to work, lead, and learn alongside the incredible staff, students, and families in the Duffield School community. The relationships built and the experiences gained during my time at Duffield have been both meaningful and invaluable in shaping me as a leader. I’m excited to carry those lessons forward and continue this important work as I join the team at Memorial Composite High School.”
Erin Craig, Assistant Principal
Prescott Learning Centre (Gr. K-9)
Mrs. Erin Craig recently joined Parkland School Division after having spent the last 20 years with Edmonton Catholic Schools in various capacities. Her first role with PSD has been as Acting Assistant Principal at Connections for Learning. Her previous post was a Teacher/Counselor at Oscar Romero High School in Edmonton as the CALM lead, she taught Religion classes and was the English Acquisition Designate and International Student Designate. She has a wide range of experience in alternative delivery education and programs including work as an Inclusive Education Lead, as well as experience with Long Distance Learning, Adult Education and mainstream teaching experience in the Junior and Senior High School levels in subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Science, English Language Arts, Knowledge & Employability Math, Drama, Communication Technology, Health and Religion.
Mrs. Craig earned a Bachelor of Education degree with a General Sciences Major and an Art Minor from the University of Alberta combining stops at the University of Lethbridge and Red Deer College as well. She also has Masters Open Studies credits from the University of Alberta.

I am committed to empowering junior high students during these pivotal years, preparing them for future success in high school and beyond. I am dedicated to nurturing an inclusive community where staff and students feel valued and respected as they engage in learning together.”
Melissa Everitt-Dallinger, Assistant Principal
Spruce Grove Composite School (Gr. 10-12)
Melissa Everitt-Dallinger will be joining her third school since joining PSD’s Leadership team as an Assistant Principal. She joined the team at High Park in 2023 after beginning her leadership journey in Forest Green in 2020. Her teaching career began in 2002 at École Dickinsfield School in Fort McMurray, delivering programming in both the French Immersion and English streams in Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Health and Career & Technologies Foundations from grades four through eight. Her PSD journey has also had stops in Stony Plain Central School, Brightbank Academy, Connections for Learning, École Meridian Heights School as well as Prescott Learning Centre.
Mrs. Everitt-Dallinger earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, Campus Saint-Jean in 2002 and added a Master of Education in Curricular Leadership from the University of Victoria in 2018.

Esther van Beek, Assistant Principal
Woodhaven Middle School (Gr. 5-9)
Esther van Beek has spent her entire professional career with Parkland School Division beginning her journey as a Grade 6 classroom teacher at Muir Lake School in 2008. She also taught Grade 5 and Grade 3 at Muir Lake before joining the staff at Prescott Learning Centre when it opened in the fall of 2016. While at Prescott, she taught Grades 5 through 7, and was also a 7/8/9 Career & Technology Foundations (CTF) teacher. Her first foray into school leadership was when she joined the Admin team at Prescott Learning Centre as Assistant Principal back in 2021.
Mrs. van Beek earned a Bachelor of Education Degree with a minor in French as a Second Language from the University of Alberta in 2008 and possesses a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Research from the University of Calgary (2018). She currently working towards the University of Alberta's Graduate Certificate in School Leadership Program.
"It has been an absolute privilege to serve the students, staff, and families of Prescott Learning Centre. Saying goodbye to such a vibrant and caring school community is bittersweet. However, I am excited and deeply honoured to step into the role of Assistant Principal at Woodhaven Middle School. I look forward to embracing new challenges, supporting students in new ways, and continuing to grow as a school leader."
